Supported Living Services

Supported Living Services (SLS) is a community based program in the Sacramento area for people who require more training and support to live in their own home. The amount of services provided is based on an on-going assessment of what you need. Support is available as often and for as long as you need it. SLS is designed to expand on existing supports that you already have. The number of training and support hours will vary and can be provided up to 24-hours a day. Supported Living Services helps in the following areas.

Cooking

Instruction in learning new recipes, healthy eating, food sanitation, kitchen safety and cooking techniques.

Cleaning

Instruction in creating a cleaning schedule or routine, cleaning techniques and establishing sanitation standards.

Shopping

Assistance with and instruction in buying healthy ingredients, creating shopping lists, budgeting and bargain shopping.

Money Management

Assistance with and instruction in money management, budgeting, planning, and expense tracking.

Medical

Assistance with and instruction in attending appointments, understanding diagnosis and instructions, medication compliance and tracking.

Personal Health and Hygiene

Assistance with and instruction in personal care and hygiene.

Community Access

Assistance with and instruction in activity planning, accessing public transportation, engaging in social events and being socially appropriate.

Advocacy

Assistance in and instruction with advocating for wants and needs, understanding rights and responsibilities.

Social activity

Assistance and instruction in personal boundaries, how to respect other people's boundaries, and how to be socially appropriate.

Safety

Instruction in how to be safe at home, in the community, and on the web.

The Supported Living Services program may also assist in other ways to provide the supports necessary for a client to maintain a self-sustaining, independent living situation in the community of their choice. We also provide Independent Living Services.
